PCOS (now called PMOS) Consult Prep Pack
Editorially reviewed on October 29, 2026. [TODO: medical reviewer] How we review
Quick answer
A consult is short, and an OB-GYN visit can cost about ₱850 per consult at Kindred. Choose your situation (first visit, follow-up, trying to conceive, or a teen with a parent) and your goals. You get an editable question list, a checklist of what to bring that pulls in your cycle and medicine history from this site's trackers, and respectful scripts.

You deserve respectful care. The 2023 Guideline says weight stigma is common in PCOS care and causes harm (Rec 3.6.1, 3.6.2). It is okay to ask for a different doctor.
Asking for specific tests
“I've read the 2023 International PCOS Guideline and I'd like to understand my results fully. Could we include a 75 g OGTT, a lipid profile, TSH and prolactin? If you think I don't need one of them, could you tell me why?”
Asking for a referral
“I'd like a second opinion on my blood sugar and cholesterol results. Could you refer me to an endocrinologist?”
If weight comments come up
“I know weight comes up with PCOS. Comments about my body make it hard for me to come back for care. Could we focus on my symptoms and my test results? The 2023 Guideline says weight stigma is common and harmful (Rec 3.6.1, 3.6.2).”
Steering the weight conversation
“If you'd like to discuss weight, could we talk about habits I can actually keep, like movement and sleep, rather than a number?”

How it works
Filipinas on r/PCOSPhilippines often describe visits that felt rushed or judgmental, including comments about weight that made them feel it was their fault. The 2023 International Evidence-based Guideline says weight stigma is common in PCOS care and that its harms should be recognised (Rec 3.6.1, 3.6.2). Preparing ahead does not fix a doctor's attitude, but it helps you get the tests and answers you came for.
Questions picked for you. A first visit focuses on how the diagnosis is made: which of the three PCOS features you have, whether thyroid and prolactin problems were ruled out, whether you need an ultrasound or whether AMH can be used, and whether you need a 75 g OGTT and lipid profile. A follow-up focuses on whether treatment is working, side effects and cheaper generics. Trying to conceive adds ovulation, letrozole as the guideline's first-line medicine (Rec 5.3.1), which medicines to stop, and a partner's semen analysis. The teen option reflects the guideline's caution that ultrasound is not used to diagnose PCOS within 8 years of the first period.
Make it yours. Edit any question, move the most important ones to the top, delete what does not fit and add your own. Switch to Taglish and the built-in questions switch too; your own edits stay as you typed them.
What to bring. The checklist covers ID and HMO or PhilHealth cards, old lab sheets with their reference ranges, period dates and your medicines. If you use the Cycle Tracker or Medicine Tracker on this device, your cycle range and medicine list appear automatically.
Scripts. Short, polite lines for asking for specific tests, asking for an endocrinologist referral, and steering the talk back to your symptoms if weight comments come up. It is always okay to look for another doctor.
Print and privacy. Print or save the pack as a PDF, with space to write the answers. Everything stays on this device.

Frequently asked questions
Saan ako magsisimula? OB or endo?
An OB-GYN is the usual first stop. Ask for a referral to an endocrinologist if your blood sugar or cholesterol results are abnormal, or if you want to discuss GLP-1 medicines.
What if my doctor only talks about my weight?
You can say you want to focus on your symptoms and test results. The 2023 Guideline recognises weight stigma as common and harmful in PCOS care. If you still feel judged, it is fine to see someone else.
Can I ask for specific tests?
Yes. Asking politely for a 75 g OGTT, lipid profile, TSH and prolactin is reasonable. If your doctor thinks you do not need one, ask why.
Is this pack useful for teens?
Yes. Choose the teen option. It adds questions about timing of diagnosis, skipping the ultrasound, and time with the doctor alone.
Is PMOS the same as PCOS?
Yes. PMOS (polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome) is the new name for PCOS, announced in The Lancet on 12 May 2026. It is the same condition with the same diagnosis and the same treatments. Both names will be used until the 2028 International Guideline update.
