Quick answer

Diagnosing PCOS (now called PMOS) can cost as little as a government hospital consult plus an ultrasound at ₱450 to ₱750, or a comprehensive Hi-Precision panel at ₱8,700 plus a consult. Monthly medicine costs vary even more.

The easiest saving: generic metformin is ₱2 per tablet against ₱18.25 per tablet for Glucophage, and Althea has the same formula as Diane-35 for less.

How it works

The calculator adds up real prices from our price data file, where every figure has a source and the date it was checked. Nothing you choose leaves your phone.

Diagnosis routes. Public hospital uses the PGH consult range plus government hospital ultrasound prices. Lying-in uses a cost a Filipina reported on r/PCOSPhilippines for a consult plus transrectal ultrasound. The lab package route is the Hi-Precision comprehensive panel (which includes TVS, OGTT, lipids, testosterone, TSH and prolactin, but no doctor) plus a Kindred OB consult. Kindred uses its PCOS package from-price. Private tertiary uses Manila Doctors consult fees and Makati Medical Center ultrasound prices. PhilHealth Konsulta and HMO routes are shown as covered or low cost, because the real amount depends on your provider or plan.

Monthly medicines. To estimate a month, we multiply the per-tablet, per-box or per-pen price by a common amount: one pill pack, 60 tablets for twice-daily medicines, 30 inositol sachets, or one pen. These amounts are only for cost math. Your doctor sets your actual medicine and amount, and we never suggest a dose.

Cheapest equivalent. When a cheaper version of the same medicine exists, the calculator shows it and how much you might save each month. Althea and Diane-35 both contain cyproterone acetate 2 mg plus ethinylestradiol 35 mcg. Generic metformin and Glucophage are the same molecule. Metformin SR is a different release form, so ask before switching. Inositol brands differ in content, so compare them per gram with the inositol calculator. GLP-1 medicines are never swapped for each other.

First year is the diagnosis cost plus twelve months of the medicines you picked. It does not include follow-up consults or repeat labs, which the guideline suggests every one to three years for glucose.

The checklist under the result lists the tests to ask your OB-GYN about, with prices. Print it or save it as a PDF to bring to your consult. For a full breakdown of every price, see the PCOS cost guide.

Frequently asked questions

How much is PCOS treatment per month in the Philippines?

It depends on what you are prescribed. Generic metformin and a combined pill like Althea are among the cheapest options. GLP-1 pens cost many times more. Use the calculator to add up your own mix.

Is Althea really the same as Diane-35?

They contain the same two hormones at the same strengths: cyproterone acetate 2 mg and ethinylestradiol 35 mcg. Talk to your doctor before switching any pill.

Does PhilHealth cover PCOS medicines?

PhilHealth Konsulta lists metformin as needed as part of case management, plus tests like OGTT, HbA1c, lipid profile and pelvic ultrasound. Outpatient PCOS medicines are otherwise not covered, and oral contraceptives are not on the Konsulta list.

Why are GLP-1 medicines in the calculator?

Some endocrinologists prescribe them, and people ask what they cost. They are prescription only. We show registered pens only and never link to compounded versions, which the Philippine College of Physicians warned against on 14 March 2026.

Is PMOS the same as PCOS?

Yes. PMOS (polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome) is the new name for PCOS, announced in The Lancet on 12 May 2026. It is the same condition with the same diagnosis and the same treatments. Both names will be used until the 2028 International Guideline update.
